More about me
|
I am currently a computer science student at Carnegie Mellon University pursing a master’s degree. I interned at Google in California this past summer. I've attended the ACM/ICPC 2016 ECNA regional contest, got the first place in Youngstown site, and the 8th place out of all 128 teams. I am familiar with system design and algorithms, Chinese history, languages, and piano. I will give you a CMU survival guide if you are new to the school :)

Why I am here
|
With my experience at CMU, I could give new students tips and advice for them to get the most out of their time here at the University. The sense of accomplishment when you successfully helped someone is awesome. By helping other people, I also get the chance to network with talented people from across all fields. I find it very interesting to talk to different people, especially those who are talented, or familiar with a field that I am not. I love making friends with different majors, nationality, and cultures.

Wenjie is amazing! I had dinner with him yesterday, and got a lot of useful professional development advice from him.

1. It's a fruitful talk with Wenjie, way beyond my expectation. His experience in running CafeDate is inspiring, and honestly, I think he should write it down to on his blog to benefits other students.
2. Wenjie is quite experienced in ACM ICPC and job-hunting, and provided my many handful suggestions for the in-coming internship hunting season. In one word, do more leetcode!
3. He is sharp, and easily found my confusions in brief talk. He also taught me some tricks of how to detect core problem out of noise. In summary, this is a super worthy talk, and I would suggest you have a talk with him, if you also have confusions about your career planning or have trouble in balancing your study and extracurricular activities in first two years in CMU.
